Open Garden Success
Opening our Garden was a gamble with the recent wet weather, but we were granted the small spell of hot sunny weather which made it all work well. We opened on Sunday 22nd and had 219 visitors, and again on Friday 27th in the evening and had another 45 visitors. During the Sunday event most of the people arrived in the first two hours, the ladies from Save the Children were almost throwing cream teas into the crowd to keep up with demand. The end result is a donation to the National Garden Scheme of £1,400 which gets split amongst many charities including these: http://www.ngs.org.uk/about-us/beneficiaries.aspx.
