ISDA have published their next Transformation Toolkit focused on Collateral Settlement Automation. ISDA surveyed their members and found that settlement fails:

• Costs considerable amounts of money in funding and operational resolution
• Consume considerable manual effort to resolve
• Are often caused by incorrect SSIs

The paper recommends firms adopt available automation solutions throughout their workflows including margin calls, SSI maintenance, electronic messaging, inventory updates and management. Within the paper is an analysis of the effects of fails including challenges and pain points, opportunities for improvement, use cases regarding vendors and industry utilities. The final section provides a high level project outline on how to execute and automation project, plus a cost-benefit analysis template in Excel (via an embedded link).
