Position: Head of Technical Operations

Location: London

Duco requires an experienced manager to head global technical operations of our hosted data reconciliation service. You will lead a team of professional DevOps staff to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all internal and external services that Duco provides.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a world-class DevOps team in a fast-growing environment
  • Ensure that internal and client-facing services are up-and-running smoothly at all times!
  • Help to evolve and enforce change management policies
  • Manage a support rota to ensure technical support coverage
  • Perform periodic capacity planning
  • Scale and evolve the managed service infrastructure
  • Own the build and deploy processes and continuously improve them
  • Identify internal processes that need improvement, create action plans, and execute to implement changes in a timely manner
  • Analyse technical metrics to ensure the production service runs within all established service level agreements

Mandatory

  • At least 7 years of experience in a technical operations role with at least 3 years of management experience
  • Advanced Linux system administration experience
  • Familiarity with network engineering and administration
  • Experience with a configuration management framework (Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems and hands on experience with Git
  • Experience managing a web application in a production environment at scale
  • Ideally, you will have experience operating in an agile start-up environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of Puppet and Hiera
  • In-depth knowledge of replicated MySQL
  • In-depth knowledge of configuring Cisco ASA routers
  • Working knowledge of security standards, such as ISO27001
  • Experience in deploying an OpenStack cloud
  • Experience with containerisation technology such as Docker

Compensation

  • Base salary of £80k – £90k
  • Participation in the company bonus pool, which is based on company revenue targets
  • Stakeholder pension of 5% of base salary after a trial period
  • Participation in company options pool
