The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, today announced that Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (SEB) has selected its multi-award winning Global Trade Repository (GTR) service in order to meet their regulatory obligations under the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR), which is expected to apply from April 2020.

Following the announcement by the European Commission on the 13th December that they are progressing with the ratification of the SFTR reporting requirements, there it is expected to be a 3-month parliamentary approval process, then the reporting go-live date will be Q2 2020 for the first phase of reporting firms.

SFTR delegated regulation adopted by Commission

Last week, the European Commission adopted several level II texts relating to the Securities Financing Transaction Regulation (SFTR). The rules require that transactions in repurchase agreements, securities lending/borrowing, commodities lending/borrowing, buy/sell back and “reuse” of collateral are reported to authorised Trade Repositories.
