Republican Right Battles the Republican not so Right
I wrote in this post about the effect this years US elections might have on Dodd Frank, and I then read this piece (subs required) in the FT on how the 'Tea Party Right' want to prevent the relatively moderate Mitt Romney from winning the nomination – and they continue this behaviour, the Republicans will hand the presidency to Obama for a second term, and perhaps also not win the lower House – meaning any challenges to Dodd Frank will be largely blocked. Whilst you wouldn't put me down as Republican supporter – the common sense coming from Scott O'Malia and Jill Sommers needs more support, and the bank-bashing agenda from Gary Gensler needs reining in, in my opinion.
